New Student Council Representatives

IBA is excited to announce the formation of a new Student Council! This seven-member council will consist of student members from IBA, each representing a different geographic region: Northern Europe, Southern Europe, Middle East to Indian Subcontinent, Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, South America, and North America. Student Councillors will serve two-year terms and will be responsible for revitalizing student engagement within IBA. They will provide resources and information to students through the existing Truman-IBA Student Facebook page and Google Group in addition to content for our social media platforms. Emily Puckett, IBA Secretary will serve as the IBA Council Student Liaison.

This new structure was implemented based on suggestions from IBA members Nishith Dharaiya and Amy MacLeod. Nishith and Amy suggested more regional representation for IBA students, moving beyond having only one representative from North America.

Many of you are familiar with the tremendous amount of time and dedication Amy MacLeod has given to IBA over the years. She built on the foundation of the original IBA student group and significantly increased student participation from around the world. IBA is better because of Amy’s contributions as Student Representative, and we sincerely thank her for everything she has done.

Amy is not leaving IBA and will be attending the Edmonton conference. If you see her there, be sure to give a shout-out for all the time and effort she has dedicated to helping IBA students!

Four representatives have been selected and all will attend the IBA Conference in Edmonton. Read about them below.
